Stéphane Halmaï-Voisard offers a full range of design consultancy services. He aims to create engaging and meaningful objects of any type and scale. His process is based on what he describes as simple observation of every day overlooked glitch or habits that he translates into tangible and functional products: “Where some may see problems to fix, I see opportunities that deserves answers.” His work is rooted in a rational approach and a preference for clear forms, with a strong focus on materiality and contextual appropriateness. The objective and guiding principle is for the outcome to be distinctif and timeless. Seasoned in various creative fields, from industrial design and exhibit design, to creative direction and art direction, he works with his extensive network of trusted contributors to build tailored teams according to the specificities of each venture, big or small.

Biography

Born in 1980 in Montreal, Canada, Stéphane Halmaï-Voisard graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design from the University of Quebec in Montreal (UQAM), before studying Product Design at ECAL/University of Arts and Design Lausanne, Switzerland. After completing his master's degree, he co-founded Terrazzo Project, where since 2011 the studio has been creating bespoke furniture and offering interior design consultancy. In addition to his studio and consultancy work, he also teaches industrial design at ECAL, where he has been the Head of Industrial Design BA department since 2014.

His work has been exhibited and is part of the collections of the Museum für Gestaltung, Zürich; Victoria and Albert Museum, London; Musée de design et d’arts appliqués contemporains (MUDAC), Lausanne; and the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec (MNBAQ), Québec.
